Change Your Life Today
Individual Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a process in which the Therapist and Client discuss a myriad of issues, events, experiences and memories for the purpose of creating positive change which enables the Client to experience his/her life to the fullest extent. It provides an opportunity to better and more deeply understand oneself. Psychotherapy is a joint effort between the Therapist and Client where progress and success vary depending upon the particular problems or issues being addressed.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy was developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980's as a complex psychotherapy technique using bilateral stimulation to process trauma. Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) is a methodology of adaptive information processing that utilizes bilateral stimulation (BLS) ─ eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones ─ in order to accelerate the brain’s capacity to process and heal a troubling memory. EMDR is successful in treating trauma-related symptoms, whether the traumatic event occurred many years ago or more recently. It gives desired results – with little talking, without using drugs, and requires little to no “homework” between sessions. Research has demonstrated that EMDR is effective for the treatment of post-traumatic stress, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, phobias, depression, sexual and physical abuse, disturbing memories, complicated grief, chronic pain, addictions, dissociative disorders, identity crisis and other traumatic experiences.
